WHO LET THE DOGS OUT???

I like dogs; you could even say that I am a dog lover. I have a Bona Fide Golden Retriever named Trapper. I grew up on Scooby Doo, when I pass one of those dog calendar kiosks in the mall I always says “awwwwwwwwwww” and I can’t front when I go to someone else’s house for dinner and their dog is looking at me like “homie could you please hit me off with a piece of that steak?” I always slide him a few pieces under the table.
With that being said the media’s fascination with this Michael Vick dog fighting scandal is crazy. First let me point out that I think Michael Vick on the field and off the field is heading on a downward spiral. On the field he has never shown any consistency at the Quarterback position. He is a once in a lifetime athlete, but unfortunately to be a successful QB it matters more what is in brain as oppose to what you can do with your legs. I have been saying this for years until you feel comfortable with Michael Vick on 3rd and 12 being able to drop back and complete an accurate pass to keep the chains moving he will never be a championship QB. Off the field from being Ron Mexico to James Bond with the secret water bottle he has proven that he isn’t the best decision maker off the field either. But in the immortal of words of Allen Iverson:
“We are talking about dog fighting? Not DUI, assault, attempted murder. We are talking about dog fighting? What are we talking about here? Dog fighting?
I don’t condone dog fighting, but I also don’t condone Bambi hunting but I don’t see them putting anyone in jail for that. The United States of America is the most hypocritical country ever. We want to lead Vick to electric chair for dog fighting, but we have legalized Deer hunting, duck hunting, rabbit hunting and many many other forms of hunting which animals are just chilling minding their own business when they get their brains blow out but some wannabe weekend sniper.
When they chop up an Alligator so some pimp impersonator or botox mom from the burbs can look stylish where is the FBI? Where is the outrage? Where is ESPN? Where is Entertainment Weekly?
The NFL has had a lot of negative press lately, so I understand the pressure on them to make an example of Vick, but trust me when I tell you that dog fighting isn’t the same as “Making it Rain” like Pacman or busting someone in the face like Broncos WR David Kircus has been recently accused of.
You want to criticize Vick for being an overrated QB, a bad decision maker on and off the field or just a bold face liar feel free, but to say he should be suspended for any length of time because his cousin organized dog fights that Vick attended occasionally is ludicrous.
As for Vick he needs to get his act together. First stop insulting our intelligence. We know you were at the dog fights, we know you smoke the “Ricky Williams” and we know you make it hot for the young ladies (allegedly). Stop hiding behind the fact you are Michael Vick, take some responsibility for your actions and grow the hell up.
