All you NBA Draft conspiracy theorists, please take off the tin foil hats and just give it a rest, OK? The Lottery is not fixed! OK, maybe in 2003 but that's it. But then again, Cleveland had the best chance of winning that year so it's not out of the question. But let's be real people, David Stern is not fixing the lottery. If he was, why on earth would they give the Clippers the first pick? The Clippers, where can't miss careers go to die? We already know that Blake Griffin will either: a) have an injury plagued career, or b) get the heck out of dodge as soon as he can. That's what getting drafted by the Clippers does to you. So why rig the lottery to send someone there? Oklahoma City made the most sense; Griffin would be staying home and playing on a team with young studs like Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook, and a soon-to-be All Star in Kevin Durant, and that has need of a power forward. Not the Clippers, who have a glut of 4s and 5s already. Any of the tin foil hat crowd want to explain that one to me?
But Oklahoma City isn't the only place that would make sense to send Griffin. New York needs a power forward to play alongisde David Lee or replace him if he leaves, not to mention that it's New York. Milwaukee could use a power forward upgrade, as could New Jersey. Any of those Eastern Conference teams would make more sense than sending Griffin to a bad Western Conference team with a history of never getting good for more than a year. Later on, I'm going to actually look at the lottery in depth and pick out the ones that look like they could have been rigged and shoot down the conspiracy theories. But until then, don't think for one minute that David Stern wanted Blake Griffin to play for the Clippers. Puh-lease!

Its a recession and the LA crowd is giving them the best ticket sales right now
