The first text came via an ESPN alert at 12:20 am est by 8:00 am the text count had reached thirty all asking the same thing:
I have a warning for all of you Dallas Cowboys fans and T.O. non-supporters (I won't call you haters because it is your right to not like a player).
Terrell Owens has and always will be an easy scapegoat for a team's problems:
• Defense is horrible: BLAME T.O.
• Quarterback throws three Interceptions in the end zone: BLAME T.O.
• Team quits on the coach: BLAME T.O.
• Team doesn't make the playoffs: BLAME T.O.
• We are in a recession: BLAME T.O.
But what the 49ers and the Eagles learned is when T.O. leaves then who do you blame? The Dallas Cowboys are playing a high price game of craps.
If the Cowboys are truly cutting T.O. because they think he is old and he isn't a true #1 WR anymore then I have no problem with that. But if they cut T.O. because of outside influences (see: ESPN) then history shows they will take two steps back before they take a step forward.
The Cowboys are banking on three things by cutting Owens:
1- Roy Williams is a true #1 WR.
2- Tony Romo will be a better QB without Owens.
3- Chemistry>Talent.
Out of those three points how many do you think are true? I personally don't think any are because I have never believed in "addition by subtraction", Roy Williams is not up to the pressure of playing at the #1 in Dallas and I don't care how great a QB you are if you lose a Hall of Fame receiver you aren't going to be better.
The three years Owens was with the Cowboys they were 31-17 with two playoff appearances. Anything less than a playoff appearance will be seen as a failure and the Cowboys will have no one to blame but themselves. Tony Romo, Wade Phillips and anyone else in that organization can't ever use Terrell Owens as a reason for failure. So we will see how they handle of the pressure of the spotlight on them 24/7.
On a side note there is only one other athlete in the world that is as polarizing as Terrell Owens and that is Kobe Bryant, but T.O. is right up there.
When this news broke ESPN might as well been called TOTV because you would have thought that Obama had been found cheating on Michelle with Hilary Clinton they way the news broke. Players get cut all the time. The Bucs cut half of their roster. The Colts got rid of Marvin Harrison. Fred Taylor was allowed to walk. None of these moves compared to the intense coverage that the Owens' release got. Relax; calm down it isn't that big of a deal.
ESPN who for months have been calling for Owens' release were downright giddy during their coverage. Keyshawn Johnson almost was in an orgasmic state. Once again all I ask is that everyone looks at it for what it really is. The Cowboys either made a decision based on "perception" or "production" either way Owens will be ok and the Cowboys will have to prove on the field if it was the right decision.
In the end everyone will try to tell you if it was the correct decision, but the reality of the situation we won't know until next year and trust me I will have my popcorn ready.

The King has spoken get your popcorn ready
I figured you were going to be a to apologist, but this is sort of a well rounded article
Good looking out Rob
*snickers*
yeah release your best player so who's gonna make up for 38 tds 3500+ yards 235 catches not witten because he's gonna get doubled and roy williams hahaha yeah good luck with that
yeah release a player with 38 tds 3500+ yards 235 catches witten isnt gonna make that up
If I am understanding what Littal is writing what he is saying. Fine T.O. got cut, but all the pressure is on the Cowboys to produce in that shining new stadium.
It sucks to be T.O. today, but in the end it might work out better for him
And now back to your regularly scheduled program...
Here you go apologizing for T.O. again. For some reason, I can't understand how or why you can't understand that T.O. is and has always been the problem.
No one questions T.O.'s talent, work ethic, or desire to win. What is questioned is whether he's able to be a team player.
You believe that he's not in the wrong he criticizes his teammates or organization as long as the criticism is valid. This type of behavior is destructive to team chemistry and will lead to any teams downfall. He disrupted the team chemistries in S.F., Philly, and now Dallas just like those of us that were scorned predicted.
He is a great athlete who causes dissension in the locker room by forcing teammates to take sides.
T.O. is a cancer and will cause the same problems on any team he joins.
Educated fool I didn't see one apology for T.O. in the article. I see him saying that the Cowboys better succeed because they can't use T.O. for a crutch anymore.
Which is a different type than most of these writers
If their problem is a body part, they maybe cut off an arm. They should've cut off the head
Robert the last time I checked the NFL was a team sport. As put in the CBSsports.com article; "Owens has NEVER taken a team over the hump." Team chemistry is more important than individual achievement. E.G. NE, PIT, NY Gaints and on and on. I can't help but feel like Owens has a soft place in your heart. Ownes is like a bad child and when he gives you the sad eyes all is forgiven.
Hmmm I must admit I expected more of a T.O. defense, but it seems like Rob has crossed us up with the we will see who is right stradegy
Just heard you on the radio. Sounded good
About what I expected
greeno what are you talkin bout he helped get the eagles to the super bowl and his teammates (no 5 for the eagles) quit on him. and dont act like he is the only player in the league thats selfish or wants the ball. the only difference is that unlike most of those players who just shut their mouths he is a little more verbal and for whatever reason the mainstream media is making him out to be the worst human being in the world. he does not hit women, no drugs, takes care of his body the right way, does not do illegal things with his money etc. but somehow he is the devil all the other players in the league that are just downright awful human beings and the bias mainstream media are attacking him now granted he did cause a lot of his own problems but i just don't understand how exactly he can be the sole cause of a teams problems. for one you pay me thousands or millions a dollars to play a game for a living there is no way in hell another person will prevent me from doing my job. we need to remember these are grown ass men they have their own brains just because one man is unhappy that should not be an excuse for you getting burned in one on one coverage or blocking the right person. calling the right plays, tackling, not fumbling the football, throwing interceptions,
also im gonna go head and say it. most of these people complaining about him being selfish and not for team are probably not familiar with black athletes i really hate to play the race card but look our kids our raised in an environment

oh one more thing they made the playoffs and had a great chance to go to the super bowl and tony fucking romo fumbled the snap if that event had not happened and they made a playoff run to the super bowl we may not even be to this point
EVERY TEAM TO HAS LEFT IS STILL YET TO REPLACE HIM OR HAVE THE AMOUNT OF SUCCESS THEY DID WITH HIM.. NEXT QUESTION!!!!!
Just watch me use my magic
Drew
When T.O. left San Fran, they stunk and they still stink. When T.O. left Philly, Philly missed the playoffs in his last year..this year they made it to the NFC Championship game..just like they did when they made the SuperBowl. You do remember that T.O. missed the last 4 or so games and the the first 2 rounds of the playoffs and came back in the game that Philly lost.
Bottom line is; I predicted this and I will predict something else. He will do the same thing at his next stop. This move wasn't about blaming T.O. for everything. This move was about someone who divides a locker room and creates an environment that isn't conducive to success. T.O. didn't throw interceptions or miss tackles, but he created tension. And his history says that it was going to get worse this year beccause it always does.
So my other prediction will be that there will be another article written to explain why the next team that cuts T.O. is blaming T.O. for all their problems instead of someone saying what the truth is; T.O. is to blame for his own problems. T.O. has never said it and neither have his apologists Michael Irvin and Deion Sanders. T.O. should still be in San Fran and retiring a legend.
Instead we talk about the ridiculous behaviors that he participates in.
Cornelius please write that entire article
I wish I was able to Yo.
