Adam Linkenauger Demonstrated His Slam Dunk Prowess To Win Brand's Dunk DominatION4 Video Uploading Contest
Adam Linkenauger played basketball on and off as a kid, but it was Track and Field that was his true athletic calling, especially in the collegiate ranks where he was a seven-time Atlantic Coast Conference high jump champion for Clemson University.
Despite his college eligibility running out, it didn't stop Linkenauger from maintaining his competitive fire and applying some of the skills he learned as a high jumper into aerial and innovative slam dunks back on the basketball court, which has lead him to a featured role in a new national POWERADE ION4 television commercial, which debuted Monday night (March 30) during ESPN2's coverage of the 2009 POWERADE Jam Fest.
The POWERADE Jam Fest is the skills competition for the country's top high school basketball players competing in the McDonald's All-American Game on April 1 at the BankUnited Center in Miami.
The 24-year-old native of Fincast, Va., (a suburb of Roanoke) was the winner of "POWERADE's Dunk DominatION4" online video uploading contest that sought innovative and powerful dunks. The contest, which is in celebration of POWERADE's new sports drink formulation called POWERADE ION4, was held for a three-week period between February 25 and March 15. The brand selected Linkenauger's dunk from nearly 50 video entries, citing his "great creativity and athleticism" that made him stand out from the rest of entries.
Linkenauger, who is currently completing his degree in sports management at Clemson, has taken his vertical jumping ability to new heights, first as conference track and field champion and then transforming his slam dunk prowess into a featured national commercial for POWERADE ION4.

if he was smart he would have contracted an agent to get him into an NFL workout. Can you imagine him at free safety with jumping skills like that?
