I am blessed beyond measure. As I sit here and watch Barack get his day started, I am astonished. Being the leader of the free world is not a small task. If you look at Barack, his demeanor is cooler than a summer breeze. I could imagine what he feels on the inside. Do I think he is nervous? Probably not. Barack saw this day coming. He had the vision, and put his faith to work. He replayed this moment is his head over and over again. He has lived this day before. He believed.

First Lady is right there at his hip too. I can see First Lady straightening his tie and dusting off his coat. She probably even took her fingers and got that spec out of Barack's eye before they got in the limo. There are so many undertones to what this day means in American History. It is a new day for every american, regardless of color. More so for African Americans, we dont have to accept images of us on the media as criminals, reality stars, and as subordinates of the mainstream.

Today is the Day, America. As Barack is sworn in today, I encourage you to make an oath to yourself. Dream in High Definition. Dont change that channel until you see what you want to watch!

Yes, this is a sports blog, but let me expand your mind for a second. Today is the Day that unifies us all. Today is the Day that if T.O. decided to stand on the highway next to Texas Stadium with a trade me sign in his hands, it wont matter. Today is the day that Lebron and Kobe's greatness does not matter. Today is the Day that whether you are a Steelers fan, Dolphins Fan, or Detriot Lions fan, it does not matter. Today is the Day where if Emmitt Smith gets on ESPN and says "Im proud of Arack Bobama", it wont matter. Today is the Day where if you still cant believe that the Arizona Cardinals would be in the Super Bowl, you do have something to believe in.

We as sports fans are rooting for the same team today. That team is America. Yes our team messes up, and yes our team is almost on injured reserve due to the financial crisis, but it is still our team. The good and bad, the ups and downs. America is still our team. As our 44th GM begins his tenure, lets rejoice in the fact that we are apart of a dynasty that will NEVER end. Isnt that amazing?
