Cris Carter On Terrell Owens "I'll Take One Bullet & Put It Right In Him Bam!!!" - Robert Littal Presents The Infamous BlackSportsOnline

Cris Carter On Terrell Owens "I'll Take One Bullet & Put It Right In Him Bam!!!"

Out of all the talking heads on ESPN Sunday Countdown crew the person I have the most respect for and who I believe is truly unbiased is Cris Carter, but it appears he isn't immune to the ESPN poison as he jumps on the bandwagon of blaming Terrell Owens for all that ails the Cowboys.

Here is Carter speaking on the radio about how the first thing he would do is cut Terrell Owens. He believes that will help solve all there problems. In general there wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary in this comment, but the fact that he uses a "gun" analogy in my opinion is a little over the top. Considering what is going on with Plaxico Burress, what happened to Sean Taylor and the fact that Carter is a smart guy he definitely could have used a better choice of words in describing how he felt about Owens. Lets keep the gun references out of sports talk if we can. I know what he meant by it, but it just makes everyone look bad.

I don't see where he said Owens was the only problem or that just cutting him would solve all their problems, he said after he took out Owens, then he "put the rest of my team together." Owens is the face of the Cowboy problem, whether you like it or not, so why not take out the face of the cancer.

I saw Trent Dilfer and Mike Ditika blame T.O. for Romo's interceptions.

I heard Tom Jackson say that T.O. wasn't a professional route runner, so tell me how Owens has the 2nd most receiving touchdowns of all time. What type of routes was he running.

T.O. has showed he can come up big in the big game what has Romo shown?

terrell isn't the only problem.

And I quote,"..TO got to go from the beginning, right from the giddy up...I'd take one bullet and put it right in him...bam and then I'd try to put the rest of my team together."
I don't know what video you were listening to maybe Common's "Universal Mind Control" or something but what Carter said is a clear as a cloudless sky that TO is the problem and he has to go. You don't have to directly say it to imply it.

I saw something like this on dalockerroom.com

Totally agree with you Rob. Way to stand up.

Everyone is partly right:

1. T.O. runs routes as designed.

2. You can't talk, even metaphorically, about shooting someone, Dr. Carter.

3. T.O. is a cancer wherever he plays. JJ has no choice but to get rid of him.

Terrell Owens isnt the problem look at the defense and what has romo done NOTHING i'm sorry that terrell just feels like he can help the team if he gets the ball more every true athlete wants the ball in crunch time so f all u T.O. haters

This morning Cris Carter phoned in or was called by ESPN’s, Mike and Mike in the Morning. I thought his comments about Terrell Owens were insensitive in light of the fact that crime in America is leveling off while crime against African American males appear to be on the rise says the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation Report). His metaphor of shooting Terrell Owens was inappropriate.

While I would agree that Terrell Owens spends too much time imposing his views on us (the general public), I would disagree with Mr. Carter's assessment that Terrell Owens should be the first Dallas Cowboy to be let go. Thank GOD! Terrell Owens has kept his mouth shut long enough for people to really begin to shift the focus where it belongs—on the leader of the team, the quarterback. I have known for quite some time that Tony Romo was in trouble, but his recent press conference comments removed all doubts. He replied, “If we win its okay, and if we lose its okay.” Would someone explain to this young man that when you play for the team that plays under the moniker of “America’s Team” that winning is not just okay but expected.

The Dallas Cowboys have been in trouble for a long while, which is why I was at a quandary as to why Boomer on ESPN’s NFL Countdown selected them to win. There was no way Dallas was going to beat Philadelphia in Philadelphia irrespective of whether Philadelphia controlled its destiny. Let me tell you why. Anytime a team (the Dallas Cowboys) allowed another team (the Baltimore Ravens) to come into their “house” for the last game ever to be play at Texas Stadium in front of all those Cowboy legends (Roger, Randy, Michael, Emmitt, Tony, Deion etc, etc….) and couldn’t win one for the gipper. There was no way in hell they were going into Philadelphia and muster up enough motivation to beat Philly in Philly.

Let me finish by stating that I have no doubts that changes will be made in the Dallas Cowboy locker room; however, I am waiting for ESPN and their competitors to give an opportunity to real analysts/broadcasters and stop employing inarticulate former athletes who love to hear themselves talk not to mention speak ill of other African-Americans. An increase in crime against African-American males is tragic. An inarticulate male of any ethnicity who doesn’t care enough about their new career to learn what is required punishes us all.

I want to say - thank you for this!
