Billups returns home and Iverson goes to Motown

images.jpgIts been less than a week into the season and according to various news outlets a blockbuster deal is about to go down between the Denver The Pistons are expected to trade Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess to the Nuggets for superstar Allen Iverson, according to multiple reports Monday. The Detroit Free Press and the Detroit News reported on their Web sites that the deal was still being finalized. Have to admit I don't know what exactly Dumars is smoking. I mean he first got Kwame Brown over the summer and its safe to say he's a bust. Now he wants to let go of a younger and very capable Chauncey Billups in exchange for an aging Allen Iverson? Of course getting rid of Billups and McDyess relieves Detroit of a potential salary cap hit. It is strange how professional sports work. I mean nothing is guaranteed there was a time folks though that Iverson would be a Sixer for life and now he's going to end up being on his third team in less than 3 years provided this deal goes through. Billups meanwhile can go home since he is originally from Colorado so for Denver not only is this a great pickup for them but a great marketing move to attract fans to games. We'll find out later in the season who benefits more from this deal but Iverson back in the East at least gives this conference a lot more star power which seemed to be all in the Western Conference.

happy reading enjoy the website

the move frees up space to attract Lebron in 2010. so most likely its gonna be between the Pistons, Knicks and slight chance Cavs. the Nets aren't movin to BK and they might end up gettin sold by then. the Pistons at the moment would be the better pick because Rip (working on extention now) and Prince will still be under contract past 2010
