Josh Howard = Idiot

According to ESPN.com, Josh Howard was arrested for drag racing back in his hometown of Winston-Salem, NC. He is charged with speeding (94 mph in a 55 mph zone), careless and reckless driving, and speed competition. He has now been released from the Forsyth County jail on a written promise to appear in court Sept. 23.

One would think that Josh Howard would've learned something from his comments about publically admitting to smoking the ganga during the offseason. Now if you want to smoke weed, that is your personal business. I do not find it to be worse than alcohol as far as side effects are concerned. However, one would think that you would not admit something like that publically given how weed is a no-no in the NBA.

Then it was revealed you were having a big birthday party before your elimination game in the playoffs. Now, partying is not that bad but it does not help counter the image that you are a lazy bum.

Now, you have really done it by drag racing and being busted for it. Normally, if you want to drag race, I would not care. But, you are a professional athlete where your arms and legs make your bread and butter. I do not get how you or any pro athlete are so willing to throw it all away by being reckless?

Did you not see how Ben Roethlisberger almost died by riding a motorcycle without a helmet? Or how Jay Williams destroyed his career by doing the same thing? Look if you want to do this instead of play basketball, then retire. But until then, you need to stay out of this sort of thing. You are starting to be more trouble than you are worth, and if I am Cuban, I would seriously consider counting down the days till your contract is up so I can dump you.
