If you think that Brett Favre's going to the Jets is the last we've seen of this soap opera taking over the NFL and every other sports media outlet, you are sorely mistaken.
Instead, Favre has transferred himself from the Land of Cheese to the Land of 24/7 media attention. Of course. given the attention he has already received, this will only get worse at this point. ESPN might as well give him his own channel: "All Favre all the time". He'll be a fixture on ESPN like the Yankees/Red Sox and every other athlete from the Eastern Seaboard. (My Personal Sour Grapes).
Favre-mania has already struck the Big Green Apple, according to TMZ.com. He broke the single day record of jersey sales and he hasn't even played yet. Maybe he'll be a hit in New York City. Right now it's the honeymoon period, but once the season starts its fair game. New York won't care about you when you mess up. Just ask Eli Manning, the QB on the world champs.
If you get off to a roaring start, they'll embrace you like they did Eli after the Super Bowl. Brett Favre could end up loving being a Jet. Or maybe, he'll live to regret this decision. Either way, he is, after all, the current Madden cover boy. Everyone will be tuning in to see the latest twist of "As the Favre Turns".
