Big up to my alma mater, UMBC, for making the NCAA tournament! This is our first time ever getting in the the big dance, and I for one wasn't sure it would ever happen.
You all just have no idea how far our basketball team has come since I got out of there in 1997. Back then, it wasn't uncommon for them to lose to students in open runs at the gym and to be down by 20 points before the half. It used to be a big deal if one of guys got a dunk during a game That's how bad they were.
Major props to the coach Randy Monroe for getting the guys to make it happen, and the biggest props of all to the players themselves for getting it done and making it the Big Dance!! Congrats retrievers, and good luck storming the castle later on this week.
