First off, the game of football should be America's past time. I'm still trying to figure out who elected baseball? Ask yourself, what team is nicknamed America's team? It ain't the NY Yankees although one could argue that. It's the Dallas Cowboys.
What other sport can argue that its biggest game should be honored as a national holiday - such as the Super Bowl. It completely grabs hold of the country...the world, while households transform into football meccas for 6 hours. How else can you explain companies paying $2 million or more for a 30 second ad?
But, my reason for this entry is too start a revolution. I'm not campaigning for football to be the national past time, but for the women of the world to revolt against the myth that we don't love the game. When I'm out having cocktails or shopping in a sports store and I overhear a conversation about football, my ears get all warm and fuzzy. I then jump at the opportunity to join in.
In a majority of the time, my opinion and comments are welcome and respected, but there's a instance or two where I am challenged regarding my knowledge of the game. I'm then hit with a barrage of questions of who, when, what and how. At this point, I smile because I'm competitive by nature, and when you know what you know, you know the rest! Besides, this gives me the opportunity to shut some mouths, while opening some closed minds.
To my ladies, men absolutely adore a woman that can talk sports, intellectually that is. It's a conversation starter and finisher. Even if football isn't your sport of choice, but you're single and looking, learn a sport and test the waters. To all the men who still feel the need to test me, do so. But when I put you at ease and start making you smile, remember I can cook too. Most importantly, I'm married!

Sports are for men. Women are to cook clean and do laundry. Come what do you know about a zone blitz. You could never love Brett Favre like we do? We have 30 march madness sheets filled out. Women should just look pretty sorry no revolution coming
Tell Lucy to stop pulling the ball away.
Nothing sexier than a woman who loves sports. You are pretty sexy yourself Joslin
Wait women like sports? Where can I find them?
It has been proven that women are much more smarter and educated than men. So the facts are we are more knowledgable about anything we put our minds to, so it turn that would make us better sports fans.
I like Cheerleaders does that count
Joslin I like you tell your husband to watch out
Why is my wife writing for BSO?
Thanks Guys, I'm blushing!!
To By Men, Which coverage of the zone blitz do you want me to expound upon. The safety or linebacker tricking the QB into thinking their playing zone and then they come off the corner and try and sack his azz? hmm...
I for one love it when a woman likes sports and likes to talk about it. That way I don't have to worry about if she is feeling left out when the men talk about it. When a woman adds her two cents and it makes sense, my ears perk up.
I think that people should communicate, no matter where they do it – in real life or in Internet.
Great post, just like always. When I'm entering your blog I'm always sure I won't regret it. Continue writing.
